The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) funds students from less privileged backgrounds to pursue their tertiary education yearly. All applications for financial aid by students intending to study at public universities in South Africa were supposed to be submitted by 21st January 2024. However, the deadline for NSFAs 2024 applications has since passed. The technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) college application deadline for support was 22nd July 2024.
The Minister of Higher Education announced during the beginning of the year that they would not accept late applications from students intending to get funding for the 2024 academic year. If you have already missed the 2024 deadline, it is a good idea to submit your NSFAS application for 2024 early once they open.
