Fortunately, there are different methods you can use to view your results. Keep on reading to learn different methods you can consider to register for matric results.

How to Register for Matric Results

With advanced information and communication technology, you can check your results in the comfort of your home before getting the physical results statement. You can do this by registering for different services on your mobile phone or online.

The SMS service is one of the most popular methods people use to view their results. To register for the service, you must send an SMS with your examination number and ID number to 35658. Check is both numbers must have 13 digits to avoid rejection by the system. Remember that registering for the service attracts a once-off fee of R3. Once you are registered, you will automatically get an SMS with your results from the Department of Education. 

Another option to view your results is registering for the USSD service using the code *120*35658# and entering your exam number. You will also be asked several questions regarding your details which you must provide. When you register, you can dial the USSD code, and you will be able to view your results.

Current matric students can register on the Department of Education’s website to access their results. Registering on this platform allows you to check your results on your computer, smartphone, or tablet from wherever you are. You will be required to enter your examination number, ID number, and other relevant details on the website to proceed. 

When you click “search,” your results will be displayed. However, you should have access to the internet when you use this option. You can also use mobile data on your phone to view your results from anywhere, even when you are outside South Africa.  

Another method to register for matric results is to download the MatricsMate App and from Apply Play Store or Google Play Store. Install it on your device and launch it whenever you want to use it. Enter your examination number and ID number; your results will be displayed on the app’s dashboard if available. If they are not yet ready, you can keep on checking. Remember, you need to be online to use this app.   

How Can I Get My Matric Results on My Phone?

You can register for the SMS service by texting your ID number and examination number to 35658 to register for the service that allows you to get your matric results. Once registered, you will receive an SMS with your results when they are available. Alternatively, you can also use the USSD code *120*35658# to register for the service, which allows you to view your results when they are out. To register for these services, you should know that service fees apply.   

You can use your mobile phone to access the education department website to check your results. This facility is only available to current matric students. Remember to register first on the website to be able to use the platform to view your results.

The MatricsMate App is another channel you can use on your smartphone to check your results. Download and install the app on your phone. When checking results, you should enter your ID number and examination number on the app’s dashboard, and your results will be displayed when they are available. To use this method, ensure you have mobile data or access to Wi-Fi.

How Do I Register for Matric Results on DBE Website?

The Department of Basic Education website provides a platform for current matric students to check their results. You must first register on the site to get an account that you’ll use in the future to check your results. Once you register, you can view your results by following the steps below. 

How to Register for Matric Results 2024 via SMS?

To register for matric results in 2024 via SMS, you must text your ID and examination numbers to 35135. Alternatively, you can provide your mobile number to IEB, who will send your results when they are ready. With this method, you don’t need to check the results because they will be sent to you once they are available.  

Do You Get a Matric Certificate if You Failed?

You don’t need to visit your school to get your results for the first time. You can only collect the physical result statement when you already know the outcome.
