How to Check Matric Rewrite Results Online

To check your results online, you should follow the steps below.

How Long Do You Wait for Your Rewrite Matric Results?

Matric rewrite exams are conducted in May and June, and marking commences soon after the last paper has been written. Matric results are usually released during the first week of August if there are no unforeseen interruptions. This means candidates must wait up to six or seven weeks to get their rewritten matric results. The Department of Education announces via different media platforms when results are out.

Can Your Marks Go Down After a Remark?

When you apply for a remark, your grades can go down. Your original script will be marked by different markers to ensure there are no mistakes. If the markers realise that the previous marker had made some mistakes, they will not hesitate to downgrade your pass since a remark is designed to address all anomalies that can exist on your paper.

Therefore, you should only consider a remark if you are certain that you deserve a better grade. This option is specifically meant for candidates who genuinely believe that they have scored higher marks. It is a good idea to take your time to prepare for your rewrite exams to avoid a situation where you can be disappointed when a remark fails to produce the desired grade. More importantly, a remark comes with a fee that is paid to the Department of Basic Education.

How Many Subjects Can You Rewrite for Matric?

A Matric rewrite exam is also known as a supplementary examination. It is designed to give students who have failed their first exam a second chance to improve their results. If you fail to get your Matric Certificate because you have failed your exams, you can rewrite a maximum of two subjects you have failed.

There is no limit to the number of times you can rewrite your Matric. You can sit for rewrite matric exams as often as you want until you achieve your desired goals. However, you should know that you can only rewrite the subjects which you failed in your first attempt.

What Is the Difference Between Matric Rewrite and Upgrade?

Matric rewrite and Matric upgrade are often confused and used interchangeably, but they are different. They are both designed to give candidates a chance to improve their results, but they are not the same. Here are the key differences between a Matric rewrite and a Matric upgrade.
