Once you have been certified as ill and can not work, you are allowed to submit your claims and enjoy your illness benefits for as long as 8 months continuously.

Being medically boarded means you have been deemed unfit due to health issues or medical related. 

When an individual is confirmed medically boarded, it clearly means the person has gone through a series of testing, assessment, and evaluation and has been declared as medically unfit for any occupation or work. This could be a formal job or an informal job. 

Once you have been declared medically boarded, you are allowed to stay off your job, Which could be temporary or permanent.
