When we finish practical assignments and keep track of our progress, it boosts our confidence in our abilities, reminds us of our commitment to learning, and represents a major milestone on our path to academic success. It symbolises the culmination of hard work, showcasing a deep understanding of the subject matter and a strong commitment to personal development. Achieving this milestone not only ignites motivation but also nurtures a deep sense of pride while simultaneously emphasising the importance of education. While you prepare for your completion at UNISA, it is important to know how to get confirmation of practical completion, get your certificate and check your completion status.

How to get confirmation of practical completion at UniSA

Once the examination results are released, Unisa’s final-year students go through a qualification verification process, which is overseen by the Directorate: Student Admissions and Registrations. This is done to ensure that they successfully complete their qualification.

Once the confirmation is received, the qualification status changes from “Final year” to “Completed” by the Division of Graduations. Once the results are published, the audit is promptly concluded.

Students should expect to receive an official confirmation of their qualification from the university. This confirmation will be sent to their myLife e-mail account. At first, their status will be shown as provisionally completed and is normally denoted with these two letters “PC”

The status will only be updated to “CO” (completed) along with a graduation date if the individual is scheduled to participate in a graduation ceremony during the upcoming graduation series. Students will soon be receiving a new statement and all the necessary information regarding the upcoming graduation via their myLife e-mail account.

How do I check my Unisa completion status?

When you want to check the completion status of your academics at the University of South Africa, there are two ways to go about it.

The first method is through logging into your UNISA account to view the status of your academics. Using this method may help but does not fully verify your completion.

The second method is to check your email which is Mylife to see if UNISA has sent you an email of completion.

What is in a certificate of completion?

According to UNISA’s law, it is important that your certificate reflects your full name exactly as it is stated on your passport, identity document, and school certificate. As a graduate, it is your responsibility to ensure that the data at UNISA is correct so that all official documentation reflects the most up-to-date information.

A certificate of completion has your full name, qualification, date issues, seal, UNISA’s logo with signature, division and a summarised congratulated message.

Confirmation of certificate of completion is emailed to students who qualify for it. Once you have completed all courses and credit hours, UNISA informs you about the completion status and graduation details.

Receiving their certificates during the graduation ceremony is a truly exhilarating experience for students. This extraordinary occasion represents the culmination of countless years of tireless effort and unwavering commitment, serving as a powerful symbol of the triumphant conclusion of their educational voyage.

Typically, the process of obtaining these certificates is smooth and efficient. Educational institutions recognise the importance of distributing certificates in a timely manner and make efforts to ensure that it is convenient for graduates.

On the day of their graduation ceremony, students will be given their certificates. You will be able to obtain certificates for one and two-year qualifications either on the day of graduation or shortly after. Students who graduate in absentia will receive notifications through email and SMS regarding the time and location for certificate collection.
